The school is owned and managed by Mount Tabor Educational and Charitable Society, Gagultha Monastery, Champakulam. The board comprises of zealous spiritual leaders and eminent educationists. The school was founded in 1995 by Rev. Fr. Thomas Thayil CMI, a remarkable priest whose vision of the world is far wide and so deep. Ever since its inception the school is a beacon of hope, life, and education. Its sterling work for youngsters is tremendous.

Message

David Starr Jordan once said, "There is no real excellence in all this world which can be separated from right living." May be because of this reason former president of our country, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan defined education as a process. A process where we train our intellect, refine our hearts, and discipline our spirit. Thus, wherever we are the purpose of education is to make good human beings with skill and expertise and to make every child as an enlightened one with the help of teachers the real catalysts. So, there should be a movement from dependence to independence and finally reach towards interdependence. Fr. Thomas Porukara Central School always makes it a point that every next level of its existence should be a new version of itself.

To my mind our school is a symbol. A symbol of diversity and a hope. It is a symbol of diversity because the students of different skills and aspirations come together to have an integral growth. It is also a symbol of hope. A hope for our children, parents, people and a hope for our nation. Because it is the place where our potential power of knowledge is transformed into an actual power by our deliberate dedication and hard work. It is also a place where we achieve our excellence, by giving care more than others think is wise, by taking risk more than others think is safe, by having dreams more than others think is practical and by expecting more than others think is possible. Because we forget all the reasons why it won't and believe the only one reason why it will, and the reason is thebasic trust in God our creator. That is why it says, "Every child comes with a message that God is not yet discouraged by men." I do believe the very purpose of a leader is to take the people where they are to where they haven't yet been. In this regard I am very delighted and grateful to God for making me the catalyst for this beautiful garden of wisdom. I am very happy to work for the betterment of my children along with my teachers, parents and all our well-wishers. So that there will be a change which is effective and progressive. Let "Porukara Central School" be a place where there is something magnificent about each one of us. Regardless of what happen to our lives and regardless of how young or old we think we might be. Let each and every moment we spend here in "Porukara" be memorable and fruitful. Because always there is something to be thankful for.
